Anti-Bullying
At Westerly Public Schools, we believe that a students’ right to feel safe in school is paramount and contributes significantly to his or her capacity for learning and social development.  Westerly Public Schools believes that preventing bullying, harassment, dating violence and/or sexual violence is critical for creating and maintaining a safe, secure and positive school climate and culture, which in turn supports academic achievement, increases school engagement, respects the rights of all individuals and groups and purposefully builds community.

Parents can find information regarding Bradford Elementary School’s Anti-Bullying policy on page 9 of the Bradford Elementary School Handbook. The WPS Anti -Bullying Task Force and Hotline  webpage is where you can find WPS protocols, hotline phone number, and bullying reporting forms. The official WPS Anti-Bullying policies are found on pages 28-29 of the WPS Grades PK-4 Student Expectation Handbook

Box Tops for Education
Our Bradford PTO has some exciting news to share...every month from December to February, the classroom that has collected the most box tops wins for the month.  Each student will choose a small prize from the "Prize Box".  The class with the highest combined totals for all three months will receive the grand prize.
Community Use of School
Bradford Elementary School is utilized year-round by community organizations for a variety of events. The building offers a range of spaces including a gym, multipurpose room, and a small conference room. Community organizations that are interested in using the building need to download, print, and complete the forms located on the Westerly Public School’s website.  Go to the main WPS webpage and select, Community, Tower Street School Community Center and then Facility Usage. Completed forms should be submitted to Brandi-Lee Lamphere blamphere@westerly.k12.ri.us   at Tower Street Community Center.
Winter is Here

Students will be allowed to partake in morning and afternoon snow play. Please make sure your child comes to school dressed for morning snow play in snow boots, snow pants, hats and mittens. Parents are reminded to include shoes or sneakers in backpacks for students to change into after recess.

To keep it safe and fun…children who do not have appropriate snow gear or are not safe will not be permitted to go out for snow play at recess.

DONATIONS of the following are needed and welcomed…
Extra snow pants, gloves, hats, waterproof mittens or boots your child has outgrown.

Thanks in advance for your generosity

Inclement Weather Reminder
Families are reminded to watch local weather advisories via Westerly Public School websites, local news networks or weather aps for updated weather. Please make sure that in the event of a delay to the start of school or early dismissal, you have inclement weather plans in place for your children.
The YMCA Supports Bradford School 4th Graders
We are thrilled to be collaborating with our local YMCA and The Future Leaders Program in working towards building leadership, confidence and team building skills with our students and the Springbrook School fourth graders.  Additional goals include helping all of our fourth graders to become better prepared for their transition to the middle school, to learn coping skills through recreation, and to develop an understanding that the YMCA exists for them and their families in order to support their wellness objectives.

Our students will participate in two full day class trips to the YMCA. the Washington Trust Ice Rink and Camp Watchaug.  A graduation celebration will be held at the end of their second day at Camp Watchaug and all graduates will be awarded a fantastic surprise- even bigger than the t-shirt they will receive.

Our fourth grade students at Bradford School are looking forward to this experience and we know they will enter the middle school with the confidence and skills they will need to be successful!
